England 2016

Alison has been to lots of countries but never to the UK, so a few years back I promised her that I would take her to England when I retired. Well that time came. We were leaving for 6 weeks away that included a week in Bulgaria with my brothers and a cruise to Norway, more on that later.

We flew to Heathrow in premium economy seats, yes, they cost more but it was well worth it given the length of the flights.

We arrived to be met by my brother Steve. We joke about “rush hour” in Whangarei but in no time at all this was the real thing as we drove around the M25.

Well before we left I had asked Alison what she wanted to see in England and she replied that she did not know so why don’t I organise that given that I was born there. So I compiled a list of things for Ali to see and experience and most of which I have not seen or experienced either, making it a voyage of discovery for us both.
